About the Position
The Associate will sit on the Corporate Lending & Securities team within the Fortress Credit Funds business. The Associate will assist in the evaluation of investments across the capital structure with a likely focus on credit opportunities within the TMT industry. The Associate will report to a Managing Director in the Dallas office and work with a team of experienced underwriters, asset managers and traders in Dallas, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Responsibilities
• Develop a well-informed and balanced view of the business, financial, and competitive risks faced by a company, sector, and industry
• Develop, conduct and coordinate financial analyses, reports and presentations to facilitate investment decisions, including leading the development of the investment memo
• Analyze and execute investment and asset management strategies
• Develop flexible financial models and perform ad hoc financial forecasting, analyses and modeling
• Support the closing process including legal document negotiation
• Analyze, prepare, and present for approval all required amendments, waivers, and extensions
• Work with third-party advisors on amendments and work-outs (financial / restructuring advisors, legal counsel)
• Be informed / knowledgeable of macro trends in the high-yield and leveraged loan asset classes
• Continuous monitoring and risk management of an assigned portfolio of liquid and illiquid credit investments

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA and/or CFA a plus but not necessary
• 4+ years of credit underwriting, transaction due diligence, transaction advisory, corporate restructuring, and portfolio management experience
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in Excel and Word a must
• Excellent modeling skills including the ability to build a flexible three statement LBO model
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with management, bankers, and industry analysts
• Self-starter, able to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong presentation skills
