Data Engineer | Director - Data Warehouse & Analytics

A growing credit investment management firm with direct lending, and collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), strategy.

The Data Engineer will partner with internal business groups to ensure the success of data management and reporting needs. The position reports to the MD of Technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage the Data Management, Analytics, and Reporting functions
• Work with the CFO, Head of Operations, and MD of Technology to execute the roadmap for reporting and data initiatives
• Develop on-premise and cloud-based data warehouse systems
• Create custom tools and user interfaces to improve the efficiency of trading, operations, and analytics
• Creating (CI/CD) continuous integration and deployment pipelines
• Manage data vendor relationships, usage inquiries, and audits on data
• Triage data issues and advise business groups on solutions to data challenges and processes, sourcing and distribution of data across the firm
• Establish and lead data committees and or working groups to communicate information and gain business consensus and approvals
• Monitors the status of all data-related issues being addressed by teams
• Identify data issues utilizing quality reports to perform exception management analysis

REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years total experience working with data management and data warehouses with asset management / financial services firms
• Experience working with leveraged loans, private debt, and CLO data operations
• User experience with Snowflake or IVP data warehouse vendors
• Data and analytics experience with Portfolio Accounting, Pricing Master, Issuer & Position Masters, Order Management, Processing, Portfolio Management, and Loan Administration Systems
• Allvue, and WSO experience
• Experience in designing, developing, and documenting governance, control framework, policies, process controls, workflows, operating procedures, and service level agreements
• Experience with Tableau or PowerBI
• Advanced experience in Bloomberg (APIs), and advanced Excel skills
• Understands the principles of data governance and architecture
• Values data integrity and has a strong background in internal controls
• Experience with managing multi-stakeholder relationships at all levels
• Understanding of performance measurement and portfolio analytics
• Strong understanding of operational risks and controls
• Issuer and Security, Data Warehouse, and business intelligence systems experience
